Super Bowl Blackout Wasn’t Caused by Cyberattack, Perhaps a Rat: Bloomberg

Ok, admit it.  As you were sitting there, watching the Super Bowl and that 45 minute power outage, the following idea crept into your mind: was this a cyberattack?  I know I thought about it.

Well, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Chedia, Entergy Corp. (the power company providing power to the Superdome) has ruled out “a cyber event,” finding no evidence of a cyberattack.

It seems we can attribute the power outage to a less than epic source: “[t]here is a far greater chance that it was something like a rat fell and touched two conductors simultaneously.  . . .”  I wonder if that rat knew he would go on to seriously delay the most-watched event in the US.
