According to Bita, the Australian spy agency ASIO (Australian Security Intelligence Organization) wants to target the computers of “suspected terrorists” by going through “third party computer[s].” Ostensibly, this means the ASIO could target an Australian citizen’s hijacked computer in order to get to the actual target computer. Bita notes that if ASIO were to gain such power, it would require a warrant and AG approval.
