USAF cybersecurity personnel move to Cyber City: Air Force Times

Nicole Blake Johnson reported for the Air Force Times on the Air Force’s efforts to train cybersecurity personnel.  According to Johnson, the Air Force is contracting with the SANS Institute to provide cybersecurity training to airmen in the 39th Information Operations Squadron at Hurlburt Field.  The training will make use of SANS’ NetWars CyberCity, a “6-by-8 foot replica of a small city” complete with all the features of a small city.  The creator of CyberCity explained that its “like a flight simulator for cyber warriors.”  Check out the Air Force Times article for a better explanation on how the simulator works.

There was a similar WashPo article on cyber ranges a few weeks ago.
