Chinese Break Into White House Nuclear Network: Washington Free Beacon

Wow.

Bill Gertz reports for The Washington Free Beacon that Chinese hackers have broken “into one of the U.S. government’s most sensitive computer networks, breaching a system used by the White House Military Office for nuclear commands . . ..”

Apparently the attack happened last month.  The Chinese hackers targeted the White House Military Office.  According to Gertz, that office is “in charge of some of the government’s most sensitive communications, including strategic nuclear commands.”

The article cites sources who believe that this was the work of a PLA unit.

Highly recommend this Washington Free Beacon article.

***Update***

Via Politico, the White House confirmed that there was a cyber intrusion, but “said that it affected an unclassified network, was ‘isolated’ and that there was no evidence that any data had been stolen.”
